TRI TIN PIONEERS SUCCESSFUL CULTIVATION OF NATIVE RED SEAWEED (ASPARAGOPSIS TAXIFORMIS): A BREAKTHROUGH TOWARD NET ZERO GOALS
Tri Tin Company has successfully initiated the cultivation of the native Red Seaweed (Asparagopsis taxiformis) in Khanh Hoa, Vietnam. This key technological milestone opens up the prospect of positioning Vietnam among the leading nations in reducing methane (CH₄) emissions in agriculture, actively contributing to global climate goals.
Red Seaweed (Asparagopsis taxiformis) – The "Golden Key" to Livestock Emission Control
Methane (CH₄) from the digestive systems of ruminant livestock (such as cattle and sheep) is one of the primary drivers of the greenhouse effect. Numerous global scientific studies have demonstrated that incorporating a small amount of Red Seaweed (Asparagopsis taxiformis) into animal feed can reduce methane emissions by over 80%.
However, relying on wild harvesting cannot meet demand, and mastering the commercial cultivation technology for this specific seaweed remains a major challenge for many countries.

A 2-Year Journey: Achieving Success from Native Seedstock
Recognizing this strategic vision, the research and development team at Tri Tin Company has dedicated over two years to rigorous research, testing, and process optimization. Today, Tri Tin proudly announces that it has successfully established the initial cultivation model for Red Seaweed using native seedstock in the waters of Khanh Hoa, Vietnam.
The successful utilization of native strains not only proves the high adaptability and sustainability of the model in the Central Vietnamese marine environment but also helps preserve and maximize the value of local biodiversity.

Driving Vietnam to the Forefront of the Global Green Map
Tri Tin’s initial success extends far beyond lab results. It opens a new chapter for the marine economy and sustainable agriculture:
-
Realizing Net Zero Goals: Once this model is scaled up and developed commercially, Vietnam will join the top tier of nations producing innovative seaweed solutions to reduce greenhouse gases.
-
Creating a New Value Chain: Supplying clean, high-quality raw materials for the eco-friendly animal feed industry domestically and for global export.
-
Developing a Sustainable Marine Economy: Providing new, climate-resilient livelihoods for coastal communities by transitioning from traditional aquaculture to high-tech, eco-conscious farming.
Tri Tin is committed to refining this technology and stands ready to collaborate with research institutes, enterprises, and regulatory bodies to scale this model. We believe that every strand of Red Seaweed successfully grown in Khanh Hoa today is a solid building block for a sustainable, green tomorrow.
